BlackX UEFI bootkit uses Baton Drop to slip past patched Windows PCs
Found in an espionage campaign in early 2026, the BlackX bootkit walked past Secure Boot on fully updated Windows machines via Baton Drop, a flaw that was patched long ago. The fix exists, but the revocation that makes it work has to be switched on by hand.
