Time4Popcorn: an abandoned updater left millions of devices wide open
Eye Security researchers remotely switched off the updater in Time4Popcorn, an abandoned Popcorn Time fork that could run code as SYSTEM or root. Millions of devices were still phoning home, even though nobody seemed to be watching anything on them anymore.
