Livre officiel des origines félines (LOOF)
HighReportedOther
The LOOF, the body that manages pedigrees for pedigree cats in France, confirmed to FrenchBreaches that it suffered a cyberattack involving data theft, and suspended some services. An attacker claims about 654,000 data rows (kitten records, litters, 22,000 user accounts, 15,000 profiles) and 90,556 files totalling 48 GB, including pedigrees, DNA tests and birth declarations. According to the source, names, addresses, email addresses, cat identifiers and dates of birth are potentially exposed. The number of rows does not equal the number of people affected, which is unknown, and the exact content of the claimed data has not been established.
Contact details and breeding documents linked to breeders and owners could let a third party identify, contact or target them with fraudulent messages.

What you can do
- Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
- You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
