On 1 October 2026, a database named "RenaultSIV" containing about 12,000 entries was posted on a cybercriminal forum. It covers vehicles: registration number, VIN, make, model, mileage, fuel type, and first-registration and inspection dates. The field list given by the poster also mentions surnames, first names, addresses, e-mail addresses and phone numbers, but the sample does not show how many records actually contain them. The source file is dated May 2025, and the data includes vehicles from brands other than Renault and Dacia. Its origin and extraction date are unknown, and the posting does not show a new incident at Renault.
Combined with personal contact details, the registration number and VIN let a third party target a person with fraudulent messages that refer to their vehicle.
