Helpfeel (service Gyazo)

HighConfirmedDigital services

The Japanese image-sharing service Gyazo, operated by Helpfeel (Kyoto), suffered an intrusion on September 11, 2026 via a vulnerability in its upload server, which let an attacker run commands on the system and access the database. About 23.62 million accounts were exposed, including names, email addresses, password hashes, user IDs and login/session data, along with about 490 million image metadata entries, mostly predating 2019. Helpfeel disclosed the incident on September 16, 2026 and is asking all users to change their password, including on other services where it may have been reused.

The exposed image metadata includes the IDs that make up Gyazo image links, which could let a third party view some otherwise private images without authorization.

Exposed data

  • Email address
  • Full name
  • Password (hashed)
  • Customer ID
  • Connection data (IP, logs)
  • Other personal data

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Change that password — and everywhere you reused it. That is how a leak spreads to your other accounts.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication on the affected accounts: a stolen password is then no longer enough.
  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
