Micromania

ModerateConfirmedRetail

Micromania notified some of its customers of unauthorized access to data held by Shipup, its delivery-tracking and post-purchase notification provider, between July 31 and August 17, 2026. The incident stemmed from the exploitation of a critical vulnerability in the Metabase software used by Shipup, part of a broader campaign that also affected other retailers using the same provider, including Easypara. The exposed data consists of names, email addresses and phone numbers submitted with orders; Micromania states that no passwords or banking data were involved and that its own systems, website and customer accounts were not compromised.

The exposed contact details could be used for targeted phishing or smishing attempts impersonating order or delivery tracking messages.

Exposed data

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number

You are only affected if you had an account or an order with this organisation.

What you can do

  • Expect phishing attempts quoting your name and this company. A message that knows your details is not legitimate for that reason.
  • You can ask the organisation exactly what was exposed about you (right of access), and complain to the DPA if no answer comes within a month.
